Our commitment

This site should be usable by everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader, need larger text, or prefer reduced motion. Accessibility is treated as part of the build, not as a later correction.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What has been implemented

• A skip link to the main content is the first focusable element on every page.
• Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator that meets the required contrast.
• Text and interface colours were checked against the WCAG contrast thresholds, including in their hover, focus and disabled states.
• Headings run in sequence without skipped levels, and landmark regions are used so that a screen reader can jump between sections.
• Every meaningful image carries a text alternative that describes what the drawing shows; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Form fields have permanently visible labels, help text where a field needs it, and errors described in words next to the field rather than by colour alone.
• A failed submission focuses a summary listing every field that needs attention, with a link to each one.
• The interactive module explorer can be operated with arrow keys and announces the selected module through a live region.
• All animation is disabled when the operating system reports prefers-reduced-motion, and no content depends on motion to be understood.
• Pointer targets meet the minimum size requirement, with spacing between adjacent controls.
• The layout reflows to a single column without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and text can be enlarged to 200 percent without loss of content.
• Nothing on the page moves, blinks or updates in a way that cannot be paused or that would obscure the focused element.

Known limitations

We would rather name the gaps than imply there are none.

• The technical drawings convey layout and proportion. Their alternative text describes what is shown, but a drawing is inherently less informative to a non-sighted reader than to a sighted one. The specification tables carry the same data in text form, and we regard those tables as the authoritative source.
• The scrolling specification ticker is decorative, is hidden from assistive technology, and stops when hovered or when reduced motion is requested. It carries no information that is not stated elsewhere in text.
• Web fonts are loaded from a third-party network. If that network is unreachable, the site falls back to system fonts; layout and contrast remain correct.

Assessment approach

This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out during development. The methods used were:

• Keyboard-only traversal of every page and every interactive component.
• Automated checks for contrast, heading order, landmark structure and form labelling.
• Manual review of alternative text against what each drawing actually communicates.
• Testing at 320, 375, 768, 1024 and 1440 pixels wide, and at 200 percent text zoom.
• Testing with reduced motion enabled at the operating system level.

A self-assessment is not a substitute for testing with the people affected. If you use assistive technology and are willing to tell us what does not work, that feedback changes the build.

Reporting a barrier

If something on this site blocks you, write to [email protected]. Please include the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using, if you know it.

• We acknowledge reports within two business days.
• We aim to fix confirmed barriers within ten business days, and we tell you if a fix will take longer and why.
• If you need information from this site in a different format while a fix is in progress, ask and we will send it.

If you are not satisfied with our response, say so in reply and the report is escalated for review by someone who was not involved in the original assessment.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is reviewed whenever a page changes and at least once each quarter. This statement is updated at the same time, including the list of known limitations. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent review.
